MUNCHSTERS Talk About Food
Through the use of fantasy creatures called The Munchsters,
this educational program presents opportunities for developing
the language skills of young children as well as introducing
them to new foods and the importance of developing good eating
habits. Chose one of three short lessons & cooking activities
(The Munchsters’ Picnic, Healthy, Happy Munchsters or
The Munchsters’ March) that will involve the group.
This program is designed for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and
includes a packet of nutrition information for children to
bring home to their parents.
Program time: approximately 30-40 minutes

for a King: The Smart Kid’s Guide to Food & Fun
Fit for a King is an entertaining program for 8 to 11 year
olds. This program includes a video and other activities (quiz,
game or food preparation) to grab the attention of children
with an upbeat theme and interesting characters, including
a storyteller, a king, a scientist and a traveling sales kid.
This program is designed to teach children how to live a healthful
lifestyle by eating a variety of foods and staying physically
active.
Program time: approximately 40-50 minutes

Eat Well, Grow Strong
This presentation focuses on the food guide pyramid, including
fun, nutrition-oriented activities that can be used to help
teach healthy eating habits to children. Our “Create
a Plate” activity is fun for kids to get involved and
learn more about how their favorite foods fit into the Food
Guide Pyramid. This program is designed for 6 to 9 year olds.

Smart! It’s All About You!
Helping Teens Make Healthy Food Choices
Nutrition is one more important issue that affects teens.
The food choices that kids make today can dramatically affect
their health and well being tomorrow – and for years
to come. It is important to educate teens about nutrition
and its importance in their lives. This presentation will
help them to face their nutritional challenges with accurate
information and the skills they need to make positive choices,
and to enjoy fitness every day.
Program time: approximately 50 to 60 minutes

Take a Cook on the
Wild Side
This presentation is designed to help junior and senior high
school students learn life skills in food safety, nutrition
and beef preparation. Students will learn why food safety
is important and how they can take action to avoid foodborne
illness. Furthermore, students learn about how eating a variety
of foods helps to fuel their body, the nutritional attributes
of beef, meal planning and budgeting skills, and beef preparation.
Program time: approximately 50 to 60 minutes

| MVE-TV
– The Channel for Moderation, Variety and Exercise
This nutrition education program is designed to help teens
in developing healthful eating habits, maintaining a balanced
diet and committing to regular exercise. Through a video presentation
and group activities this program will allow students to analyze
their personal diet and level of activity, discuss lean food
preparation techniques, identify lean food choices on fast
food menus, read nutrition labels, and develop their own balanced
diet.
Program time: approximately 50 to 60 minutes

Fueled for Flight
Designed for 5th and 6th graders, this education program teaches
key concepts about nutrition and energy, using space travel
as the thematic approach. A video explores how the space shuttle
works and what astronauts need to do to prepare for a space
launch. An activity is then provided for participants further
exploring fueling our own bodies and expending energy.
