Savory Seasoned Beef Steaks

Cut: Top Loin Steak/Strip Steak
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes

Main Ingredients:

 2 well-trimmed beef top loin (strip) steaks, cut 1 inch thick (about 1 1/4 pounds)
 2 teaspoons finely shredded Parmesan cheese

Seasoning Ingredients:

 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
 2 teaspoons minced garlic
 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Directions:
  1. Combine seasoning ingredients in small bowl.; press evenly onto beef steaks.
  2. Place steaks on grid over medium, ash-covered, coals. Grill uncovered, 15 to 18 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. Sprinkle with cheese. Makes 4 servings.
Recipe Tips:
  • Seasoning rubs are used to add flavor to beef steaks and roasts; they do not help tenderize.
Recipe Notes:

Beef Options: Beef top sirloin steak, cut 1 inch thick or beef shoulder top blade steak (flat iron) may be substituted for the beef top loin steak. Prepare recipe as directed and grill top sirloin steak, uncovered, 17 to 21 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. Grill shoulder top blade, covered, 10 to 14 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning once.
